Conference “Africa for Sale ”
As was announced before, the NVAS hosts the international conference “Africa for Sale: Analysing and Theorizing Foreign Land Claims and Acquisitions” on 28 & 29 October 2010 in Groningen. The organizing committee has received 46 abstracts for paper presentations from all over the world. We are absolutely thrilled by this “global” response. Moreover, the quality of the abstracts promises an exciting scientific programme.
Key–note speakers at the conference will be Prof. Rosaleen Duffy from Manchester University and Prof. Annelies Zoomers from Utrecht University and Radboud University Nijmegen. Both speakers are renowned experts in the area of land issues. Rosaleen Duffy is Professor of International Politics; Annelies Zoomers is Professor of International Development Studies.
At the conference some stands will be set up for publishers, bookshops, or others to display material related to the topic of the conference. We invite anyone who is interested in display space to contact us (Marieke van Winden: WINDEN@ascleiden.nl).
