Functiewisselingen binnen de Afrika studies
Sinds 1 mei 2010 is Prof. Dr. Ton Dietz directeur van het Afrika Studies Centrum en hoogleraar African Development aan de Universiteit Leiden. Prof. Dr. Dietz was eerder wetenschappelijk directeur van het Amsterdam Institute of Metropolitan and International Development Studies aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam.
Ton Dietz is de opvolger van Prof. Leo de Haan die per 1 mei 2010 is begonnen als rector van het Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in Den Haag.

Dr. Valentina Mazzucato has accepted the position of professor of Globalization and Development in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences with the delivery of an inaugural lecture in the Aula of Maastricht University, Minderbroedersberg 4–6, Maastricht.
